WWF Thailand believes that rangers are the guardians of planetary health. Building capacity and professionalism in Thailand’s for SMART Patrol rangers is essential to safeguarding and ensuring our country’s protected areas remain just that, protected. We recently expanded our efforts by partnering with three key protected areas: Lan Sang, Taksin Maharat, and Doi Soi Malai–Mai Klay Pen Hin National Park (currently under gazettement), to conduct a hands-on SMART Patrol training.
Over the course of six days (22-27 June 2025), 55 dedicated rangers gathered to sharpen their patrol skills, exchange field experiences, and learn advanced techniques in data-driven protection and monitoring. With each lesson and field exercise, they strengthened the protective shield around Thailand’s rich biodiversity.
This collaboration represents a long-term commitment to equip nature’s frontline defenders with the skills, resources, and support they need to carry out their work effectively.
