Elephant Conservation

We are committed to safeguarding the rich biodiversity of the Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex (KKFC), with a particular focus on elephant conservation. Our efforts span four key areas: Kuiburi National Park, Kaeng Krachan National Park, Chalerm Phrakiat Thai Prachan National Park, and Mae Nam Phachi Wildlife Sanctuary.

Since 2005, we have enhanced wildlife protection through SMART patrols, trained rangers, and provided essential equipment to ensure effective forest protection. Our research initiatives monitor tiger, elephant and sambar deer populations, using advanced techniques like GPS tracking technology, infrared drones, and DNA analysis to track wildlife, particularly elephants.

To support these majestic creatures, we’ve managed 285 rai of grassland, maintaining salt licks and water sources, and tracking wildlife with camera traps to guide conservation efforts. Additionally, we work closely with local communities to mitigate human-elephant conflicts (HEC), providing necessary resources to ensure co-existence. Through these comprehensive efforts, we aim to secure a future where elephants and other wildlife thrive in harmony with their environment.
