Project Title: Format translated Thai text of WWF Thailand’s ” SCP Business Methodological Tools” into an eBook format to match the original English version.
Background
The IKI SCP Thailand Phase II project is dedicated to supporting businesses in the food value chain by helping them integrate Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) principles into their operations. As part of this effort, the project has developed a set of tools/guidelines targeting 3 key environmental issues in our food system.
- Food loss and waste
- Single use plastics
- Transportation
WWF Thailand completed these guidelines in English with the help of a consultant who partook in a comprehensive literature review, and the help of a graphics design company in June of 2025. Once the draft Thai translations are finalized, they will be provided to the selected vendor for formatting.
Objective of the assignment/Scope of work
The selected company/vendor/individual will be tasked with formatting the translated Thai text into a finalized eBook format that mirrors the original English versions. Adobe Illustrator (AI) files of the original English designs will be provided.
- Inserting the translated texts provided into the appropriate sections in the eBook design
- Format the Thai-language eBooks to closely match the visual layout, typography, and design style of the original English versions.
- Support the final calibration of the formatted eBooks by submitting draft formatted files (PDF or editable design files) to WWF and the translator team for final content calibration. Feedback related to text readability, spacing, or clarity in visual context may be provided. The vendor will be expected to make necessary adjustments prior to final submission
Additional requirements include:
- Ensuring all text is legible and presented in a reader-friendly manner
- Aligning structure, icons, infographics, and layout elements with the original
- Proposing layout modifications when needed due to language expansion/contraction or character differences (with justification and WWF approval)
Rationale
As the project is based in Thailand and aims to assist Thai companies with integrating SCP principles, it is vital that these tools that were developed in English are translated into Thai to improve accessibility and comprehension for employees of Thai companies. This reasoning is based on feedback the project received from those working within the Thai food sector who attended workshops we organized in the development process of the tools.
Timeline
The official timeline of this assignment will be developed in collaboration with the selected vendor to align with the overall project schedule. However, it is expected that all final formatted Thai-language guidelines will be delivered by 15 October 2025.
Delivery in a rolling format (e.g., Tool 1 submitted first, followed by Tool 2 and Tool 3) is acceptable and encouraged for efficient feedback integration.
Key milestones
- Kick-off meeting and timeline confirmation (upon contract signing)
- Mid-process review and format validation with the project team
