Our Story

We are WWF. The World Wide Fund for Nature.

Founded in 1961 in Switzerland, WWF is one of the world’s most recognisable and respected independent conservation organisations.

About Us

WWF was established in 1961 by a small group of passionate individuals united in their mission to create the current World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Since its inception, WWF has implemented over 13,000 conservation projects aimed at preserving and fostering a sustainable balance between humans and nature. Today, WWF has grown into one of the largest and most extensive conservation organizations in the world, with a vast global network dedicated to protecting the planet’s natural resources.

For over 60 years, the iconic black-and-white panda has become a recognized symbol in many countries, supported by more than 5 million people worldwide. This backing has helped turn various conservation initiatives into reality, garnering support from billions social media followers around the globe. WWF’s mission extends beyond merely preserving wildlife; it also encompasses the conservation of nature and improving the livelihoods of local communities. This approach aims to maintain biodiversity and promote sustainable development for our planet. WWF is committed to enhancing the demand and intention to drive change, leading to conservation, sustainable development, and a more sustainable way of life.

WWF Thailand began its operations in the country in 1995 and established an official office in 1999. Its mission focuses on the conservation of natural resources, including plastics and oceans, wildlife conservation, forest, sustainable consumption, and freshwater resource management. WWF’s work in Thailand emphasises building partnerships with the government, local communities, and other organisations to achieve sustainable outcomes for long-term conservation of nature and the environment.
