Design and Produce General Material Waste Segregation bins for Recyclable plastic, Other Recyclable, and General waste

Scope:

Under the City Action Plans of the MA-RE-DESIGN project, which have been formally committed to and are being implemented in close collaboration with Trang City Municipality and Koh Tao Municipality, the project focuses on strengthening local waste management systems and enhancing environmental awareness among key stakeholder groups. These include local residents, community members, youth, tourists, and the business sector.

As part of these action plans, the project will support the provision of waste segregation bins that clearly separate general waste and recyclable waste. This initiative is intended to encourage proper waste sorting at source, improve the efficiency of downstream waste management processes, and foster long-term behavioral change within the community.

The activities will be implemented in close coordination with the municipalities and relevant local stakeholders to ensure that the interventions are aligned with local needs, operational capacity, and long-term sustainability objectives.

Objective:

The project will focus on procurement and distribution of waste segregation bins for Recyclable plastic, Other Recyclable, and General waste. This intervention aims to enhance awareness and understanding among all key stakeholders, while promoting proper waste separation at the source. This approach will contribute to improved upstream waste management practices and support the development of a more efficient and sustainable waste management system overall.

Expectation Results:

  • To manufacture and supply waste segregation bins: with a minimum capacity of 56 liters per bin, totaling 50 sets (3 bins per set, totaling 150 bins) with transparent bin bodies;
  • Lid Specifications: Each set must facilitate proper waste segregation (colors to be specified based on standard waste categories)
  • The lids must feature suitable top-drop openings, push-doors, or specific functional openings designed to accommodate the respective types of waste easily
  • Material: Made from durable, commercial-grade materials suitable for regular indoor/outdoor use.
  • Resulting in a total of 50 complete sets of waste segregation bins. The scope of supply shall include all associated costs related to packaging, handling, and transportation, with delivery to the designated pilot sites in Trang City Municipality.

Design Approval:

The supplier must submit the final 3D design, material specifications for the transparent bin bodies, and artwork to the WWF project team for formal approval prior to commencing mass production.

Damage & Warranty:

The supplier shall bear full responsibility for any structural or cosmetic damage (e.g., cracks, deep scratches on the transparent bodies) that occurs during transportation to the designated sites in Trang City Municipality. Any damaged units must be repaired or replaced by the supplier at no additional cost within 14 days of the site inspection.

Payment Terms:

Payment will be made based on the following milestones:

1st Payment (50%): Upon signing the partnership agreement and WWF’s formal approval of the final bin design.

Final Payment (50%): Upon successful delivery, inspection, and acceptance of all 50 complete sets at the designated pilot sites in Trang City Municipality.
