Summary and scope of work

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced photographer/videographer to support the Forest Forward project in Tak and Nakorn Phanom, Thailand, in capturing high resolution photographs and/or videos that will be used by WWF to develop valuable materials for communications, advocacy and fundraising.

About WWF Thailand

WWF is one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organisations, with over 5 million supporters and a global network active in nearly 100 countries. WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the Earth’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption. WWF has had a presence in Thailand since 1995. WWF Thailand works with government, civil society, and private sector partners to address the threats.

WWF Thailand Forest Forward Landscapes

The project focuses on three geographical and environmentally significant areas of importance:

  • Dawna-Tenasserim Landscape : Mae Ping Corridor and Kaeng Krung National Park
  • Dong-Phayayen World Heritage Site : Thaplan National Park
  • Lower Songkhram River Basin.

Thailand’s Dawna-Tenasserim Landscape (DTL), a rolling mountain expanse stretching 500 miles along the Thailand-Myanmar border, hosts the largest system of protected areas in the Mekong Basin and features two World Heritage Sites. Conserving remarkable diversity across its north-south axis, it resembles the semi tropical evergreen and deciduous forests of old, sheltering species largely gone from the region, including hornbills, a diversity of primates, gaur, Malayan tapir, and seven species of wild cats, including approximately 170 tigers – 85% of the nation’s total. WWF-Thailand has worked extensively in the landscape for more than a decade; the DTL is among the WWF Network’s highest priority ecosystems.

These areas had been selected because they bear a high degree of biological diversity, are environmentally significant, and require conservation measures.

In addition to professional skills in photography and videography, the ideal candidate needs to have a demonstrated track record in capturing compelling content, developing impactful materials that can be used across different platforms and target audiences. Familiarity with conservation, environmental, or sustainable development issues, especially in responsible forest management is highly desirable.
